Peery & Associates can perform several levels of plan administration based on your needs and wants. Though the core of our business is full plan administration, including trust accounting, discrimination testing, contribution allocations and 5500 preparation, we also offer specialized services at a reduced cost.
For example, you may only need us to prepare the 5500 each year with no testing, calculations or allocations required. Or you may only require us to perform testing to ‘back-up’ or supplement services you are getting from your recordkeeper.
We will work closely with you and your financial representatives to meet the needs you require to maintain a smooth running retirement plan.
Plan Correction & Resolution
Many times plan sponsors find themselves in positions that they find hard to correct, and they need to find the people to help them resolve any problems they may have. Whether you need a simple document amendment or a full blown multi-year administration and discrimination correction, our staff is here to help.
Audits come in two or three different varieties. The most common is the ‘Large Plan Audit’. If your plan has over 100 participants, you are required to have an independent audit conducted by an outside CPA. We can help with whatever level of support you or your auditor may need. If you need to find an auditor, we have several references available.
Sometimes the IRS or DOL conducts an audit of a retirement plan for any number of reasons. The process can be both frustrating and scary. We can help you prepare for an audit, and deal with the IRS/DOL agent assigned to your case. We can also help you make any corrections they may require.
Plan Proposal Preparation
Not sure about what kind of plan may work best for you? We can help! Designing a plan to meet your needs is one the best things you can do to make things easy on yourself and save time and money later on trying to fix a broken plan. We can provide several plan design options you can choose from. Should I go 401(k) with Automatic Enrollment, or do a Safe-Harbor plan, or both? And what are the consequences? What about a DB plan? What is the best DB formula for me? We can answer those questions, and give you examples of what your plan will look like.
We have an In-House actuary (with another on the way) waiting to provide all the actuarial services you or your plan may need. By having an in-house actuary, you don’t need to hire anyone else to service and help administer your Defined Benefit Pension Plan(s). Keeping all this work in house will save you time and money.
Any questions? We can help. Heard something on the news or from a friend about some upcoming or potential law changes? Call us and find out the truth. Having problems with your plan or some aspect of retirement plan that demands knowledge and resources? Let us provide the answer to a single question, or a whole slew of ‘em. If we don’t know the answer right off, we’ll find it. Please push us to the limit!
